1. Who we are

HappyFares is owned and run by Travelogy Online Private Limited, a company registered in India (CIN U79120AS2024PTC026117), registered office A4, Level 1, Krine Vista, Anand Nagar, Lane 3, GS Road, Guwahati, Assam 781005. "HappyFares", "we" and "us" mean Travelogy Online Private Limited.

Contact: help@happyfares.in; calls on +91 7670060070 and +91 7099132130 (24 hours a day); WhatsApp on +91 7670070070.

These terms apply when you use www.happyfares.in, the HappyFares app, HappyFares inside ChatGPT, our WhatsApp numbers and our phone lines (together, "HappyFares"). These documents are part of these terms: Booking Terms, Refund Policy, Add-on Terms, AI Assistants, Voice and Phone Services, Privacy Policy, and Cookie and Tracking Notice.

2. What HappyFares does

We sell domestic and international flight tickets as a travel agent accredited by IATA (IATA code 1432101). We search fares, book your ticket with the airline, and look after the booking with you. The airline flies you. Its conditions of carriage and fare rules, and the rules of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), govern the flight itself: the schedule, the aircraft, baggage, check-in and what happens at the airport and on board.

We also sell our own fares and services, such as Easy Refund, Rapid Refund Sure, Smart Saver, 24-Hour RefundGuard, Web Check-in Assist, JetSet VIP Care, Visa Assistance and Fare Lock. Each has its own terms in our Add-on Terms. Travel insurance shown on the booking page is sold by the insurance company named on the offer, under its own policy.

When we add other travel services, such as hotels, holidays, trains or buses, we show that service's own terms before you book it: our role, the service provider, the price, and the cancellation and refund rules. These terms apply alongside them. A mention here does not mean the service is on sale today.

3. Who can use HappyFares

You must be 18 or older to hold an account or make a booking. When you book for other people, you confirm that they agreed to it and that you may give us their details. When you add a traveller under 18, you confirm that you are their parent or lawful guardian, or that their parent or guardian has agreed to the booking. We may ask for proof where the law requires it.

HappyFares is for your own travel and the travel of people you book for. Travel agents and resellers may not use it to book for their customers.

4. Your account

You can book as a guest or sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code. Keep your phone and codes private. Tell us at once at help@happyfares.in if someone else may have used your account. We never ask for your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, bank password, or a one-time password sent by your bank or payment app, by any channel.

5. Searching and fares

We show live fares from the airlines we work with. Airlines change fares and seats all the time, so a fare can change between your search and your payment.

Our "Recommended" order starts from the fare and adds weight for a journey longer than the fastest flight on your search, for each stop, for a connection wait of more than 3 hours, and for a flight whose own on-time record is low. The lowest total comes first. If the top flight has a stop, a non-stop costing no more than 20% above the cheapest fare is placed first. Two kinds of flight can appear above any order: the flight you picked on a flight comparison site before you arrived, and, on Senior citizen or Student searches, the flights that offer that concession. You can sort by cheapest or fastest and filter at any time. No airline or partner pays us to be placed higher, and no commission or deal changes the order. If we ever show a paid or sponsored listing, we will label it.

Before you pay, we check the fare with the airline again. If it has changed, we show you the new fare and you decide whether to continue. We never charge a changed fare without showing it to you first.

6. Prices, fees, promo codes and add-ons

The price before payment shows the fare, the airline's taxes and fees, any services you chose, and our convenience fee, each as its own line, with the total. The convenience fee is our charge for booking and looking after your ticket. It depends on how you pay. The results page tells you that a convenience fee for your payment method is added, and the booking page tells you it shows on the payment step. The amount appears on the payment step once you choose how to pay, before you pay.

You can use one promo code per booking. A fare-discount code takes money off the fare, and the convenience fee still applies. Code HFNCF (one-way domestic trips) or RTHFNCF (domestic round trips) waives the convenience fee instead; it is not a fare discount, and it cannot be combined with another code. These two codes do not apply to international bookings.

Our HappyFares fee on a cancellation (Rs 400 per traveller, Rs 600 on an Easy Refund fare) or a date change (Rs 400 per traveller) is shown in the fare rules before you book. If the airline cancels your flight, we keep one fee only, never both. The Booking Terms and Refund Policy explain all fees and how refunds are worked out.

Services and insurance are always your choice. None is selected for you; you add each one yourself, and you see its price before you confirm. Accepting these terms does not select a paid service. You can remove an item before you pay.

Air tickets carry GST at the rates the government sets: 5% in economy and 18% in other cabins. Our convenience fee carries GST separately. Add your GSTIN before you pay for a business invoice; it may not be possible to add it after the ticket is issued.

7. Payment

You pay on our payment partner's secure page: Razorpay, Easebuzz, PayU or Snapmint (pay in parts). Snapmint's instalment option is offered under Snapmint's own terms, which it shows you before you agree. We never see your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank password, and we do not save cards. Our assistants never take payment by chat or phone; they send you a secure link. A limit of Rs 1,00,000 per transaction applies to UPI on our site. On some international bookings only cards issued in India are accepted; the payment page says so.

If we cannot issue your ticket, we cancel the booking and send back everything you paid within 24 hours. Your bank or payment partner may take a few more working days to show it in your account (Refund Policy).

8. Tickets, names and travel documents

Enter each traveller's name exactly as on the ID they will carry: a passport for international travel, and for domestic travel an accepted photo ID such as Aadhaar, passport, driving licence, voter ID or PAN card. Name corrections and changes of traveller follow the airline's rules; the Booking Terms explain them.

Passports, visas and entry rules are your responsibility. They depend on the country and on your nationality. Check them with the embassy or the official government website before you travel. Our Visa Assistance add-on guides you; it does not apply for you. Our e-visa service, sold on our Visa pages, submits your application for you, directly or through an authorised visa partner. Neither can promise a visa: the destination country decides.

9. Our own fares and services

Each of our fares and services, its price, what it covers and its refund rules are in our Add-on Terms. The price and the main points are shown before you add it.

10. AI assistants, voice and our phone line

Meera (our AI assistant on the website, the app, ChatGPT and our phone line) and Radha (on WhatsApp) answer questions, search flights and help you book, change or cancel. Our passport reader and voice search also use AI. Our page "AI Assistants, Voice and Phone Services" explains how they work and is part of these terms. In short:

  • they always say they are AI, and you can ask for a person at any time;
  • they check it is you before showing or changing a booking;
  • they change a booking only after reading back exactly what will happen and getting your clear yes, and we confirm it in writing;
  • they never take payments or ask for card details, PINs, passwords or bank OTPs;
  • calls are recorded.

Meera and Radha are in beta, and AI can make mistakes. Check the written itinerary, price and conditions before you authorise a booking or a change, and ask us to sort out any difference before you go ahead. If you think an assistant got something wrong, tell us and we will look into it. Nothing in this section takes away a right you have under Indian consumer law.

Meera's "book now or wait" read is an estimate from past fare movements, shown as a chance. Fares can move either way. It is not a promise or financial advice.

11. Messages and calls

We send your ticket, payment and refund updates, schedule changes and the alerts you ask for by email, SMS, WhatsApp, app notifications and, when needed, a call; they are part of the service. Marketing, such as fare sales and offers, may come by email and WhatsApp to people who have booked with us or signed up, and every message has a way to stop it. To measure our adverts and show our offers on the platforms where we advertise, we share your email and phone number with them as a code (a hash). A hash is still your personal data. You can stop this at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains this and how to stop it. Our Privacy Policy explains reminders about unfinished bookings and the calls you can ask for.

12. The HappyFares app

The app shows our website inside it. It asks your permission before sending notifications; you can turn them off in your phone's settings. These terms apply to the app as they do to the website.

13. Reviews and things you post

A review must be your own, honest, first-hand experience. Do not post anything false, abusive, hateful, obscene, about someone else's private life, or that breaks the law. We do not edit reviews. We may hide a review that breaks these rules and, where we can, tell the writer why. By posting a review, you let us show it on our website and app, with your first name and city, until you ask us to remove it.

To complain about a review or other content shown on HappyFares, write to our Grievance Officer (section 19). We acknowledge within 24 hours and decide within 7 days, or faster where the law requires.

14. Things you must not do

Do not: use bots, scripts or scrapers to search, collect fares or book; make false, speculative or fraudulent bookings; use someone else's identity, card or account; try to get round our security checks, rate limits or access controls; interfere with or overload our systems; try to make our AI assistants reveal other people's data or break their rules; abuse or threaten our staff or assistants; or use HappyFares for anything unlawful.

If we reasonably believe a booking is fraudulent, we may hold or cancel it before departure. A person reviews every such case. We tell you why where we can, and you can ask our Grievance Officer to review it. If we cancel a booking ourselves and it was not fraudulent, you get a full refund of everything you paid, and we also pay you Rs 400 per traveller, or Rs 600 per traveller on an Easy Refund booking (Booking Terms, section 8).

15. Our liability to you

We are responsible for the services we provide: searching, booking and issuing your ticket correctly, passing on your requests, carrying out what you confirm with our assistants, handling refunds and providing our own services as described.

The airline is responsible for the flight: schedules, delays, cancellations, denied boarding, baggage and what happens at the airport and on board, under its conditions of carriage and DGCA rules. Other travel suppliers are responsible for their services, and the insurance company for its policy. We help you take any claim up with them.

Money we owe you, such as a refund, is never reduced by this section. If you book for your business or another commercial purpose, our liability for other losses caused by our mistake is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking concerned. If you book as a consumer, we are responsible for the loss that a reasonable person would expect to follow from our mistake. The limit for business bookings does not apply to losses caused by our negligence, fraud or wilful default, to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or to any right that Indian consumer law does not let us limit.

We are not responsible for delays or failures in our own service caused by events neither of us can reasonably control, such as extreme weather, strikes, government orders, or a failure of an airline's own systems. This does not reduce any refund we owe you, and it does not affect the airline's own duties to you under DGCA rules.

16. Your responsibility to us

If you knowingly give us false details (a name, date of birth, passport or contact detail) or misuse HappyFares, and that directly causes us a loss, you agree to make good that loss. Honest mistakes in a booking are dealt with under the airline's rules and the Booking Terms. This does not apply to anything caused by our own mistake.

17. How you accept these terms, and which version applies

Before you pay, we show a summary of your booking with its fare rules. When you press Pay, you confirm you have reviewed them and accept them, these Terms of Use, the Booking Terms, the Refund Policy and, for any service you added, the Add-on Terms, as the line just above the button says. There is no separate tick box; pressing Pay under that line is your acceptance. When you book through one of our assistants, it reads the main points to you and we send the full summary in writing.

The terms and product benefits shown when you book apply to that booking. A later update applies to later bookings, not to a booking you already made, unless the law requires it or you agree. An airline's own rule change can still affect your flight, as the airline's conditions of carriage allow.

We may update these terms. When a change matters to you, we tell you on the website, in the app or by email before it takes effect.

18. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time by writing to help@happyfares.in. Your existing tickets stay valid with the airline. We may suspend an account where we reasonably believe it is used for fraud, abuse or to harm our systems or other customers; where we can, we tell you why and you can ask for a review.

19. Complaints

Start with our team on WhatsApp, phone or help@happyfares.in. If it is not resolved, write to our Grievance Officer: Sapan Jha, Head, Escalation Help Desk, grievance@happyfares.in (or help@happyfares.in with "Grievance" in the subject), or call +91 7670060070. If the officer's reply does not settle it, write to our Escalation Satisfaction Manager, Pratik Goswami, at help@happyfares.in and ask for escalation. We acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within one month. Our Grievance Redressal page gives all the steps, including the National Consumer Helpline (1915) and the AirSewa portal for airline matters.

20. Law and courts

Indian law governs these terms. Disputes go to the courts in Guwahati, Assam. If you are a consumer, you can also go to the consumer commission where you live or work, as the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 allows; nothing in these terms takes that right away.

21. If part of these terms is not valid

If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
