To manage an Oman Air booking, open Manage Booking on omanair.com and enter your booking reference and last name. There you can add extra baggage or legroom seats, change dates and request a refund, but only if you bought directly from Oman Air. Tickets bought through a travel agent can usually be viewed online, with changes handled by that agent.

Oman Air flies Indian travellers to Muscat and beyond, and most questions come after the ticket is issued: how do I look it up, what can I change, and what will it cost? Here is how Manage Booking works, based on what Oman Air publishes on its own site.
What do I need to open my Oman Air booking?
Oman Air’s Manage Booking and online check-in forms ask for your booking reference and your last name. The reference is the booking code on your confirmation email. The last name should be spelled as it appears on the ticket, which is the name on your passport.
If you have lost the reference, Oman Air says the booking is stored in its reservation system and can be retrieved. You can use the link in your confirmation email to reprint the itinerary, or contact an Oman Air office for a copy.
Oman Air’s pages ask for the booking reference and last name. We did not find a passport-number option on them, so keep the reference handy rather than relying on a passport lookup.

What can I change online?
Oman Air’s Manage Booking page lists these actions on an existing booking:
- Update passenger contact details
- Choose extra legroom seats
- Add extra baggage
- Buy lounge access
- Exchange (change) your flight dates
- Cancel and request a refund
There are limits. Oman Air’s booking FAQ says that if you have already bought extra baggage or extra legroom, you can usually still change guest details but not the flight itself. Reward flights and some multi-city bookings cannot have flight details changed online, and group bookings cannot be changed online at all.
Name errors are treated strictly. Oman Air says a mistake in a name or its spelling generally means cancelling the ticket and buying a new one in the correct name, and cancellation charges may apply. The new fare and seat availability will apply too, so check the spelling before you pay.
Does my fare decide the change and cancellation cost?
Yes. Oman Air states that the outcome of a cancellation or change depends on the ticket’s fare basis. Depending on the fare you hold, you may get a refund, the option to fly on another day, or you may have to pay additional charges. Rather than guess, open Manage Booking and see what is offered for your exact ticket.
For what each fare bundle includes, read our guide to Oman Air fare types for Indian travellers. We do not repeat the fee rules here because they differ by fare and can change.
Refunds also depend on how you paid. Oman Air says refund requests for upcoming flights go through Manage Booking for tickets bought on its website, at an Oman Air office or through its call centre and paid by bank card. A ticket bought with cash at an Oman Air office is refunded through that office.
What if I booked through a travel agent?
Oman Air’s FAQ says that for agent bookings you can only view and retrieve the booking online, and changes must go through the agent. Its Manage Booking page also says refunds for travel agency tickets must be handled through the agency.
The practical step: make changes through the same place that issued the ticket, and keep your Oman Air booking reference ready when you ask. Do not pay a second fee at Oman Air for something your ticket issuer has to process.
When does Oman Air online check-in open?
Oman Air’s own pages are not fully consistent. The Manage Booking and before-you-fly pages say online check-in is available from 48 hours before departure. Its check-in information page says online check-in closes 60 minutes before departure, while its booking FAQ describes a 24-hour opening and a closing time of 3 hours before departure. Because the pages differ, check the time shown for your flight when you open check-in, and do not plan around the later figure.
Oman Air’s before-you-fly page also tells passengers to carry a passport and visa, and to reach the airport at least 3 hours before departure. For Indian airports, plan for security queues, especially in the early morning.
Did you know? Oman Air’s Sindbad programme is part of the oneworld alliance, so miles can also connect to other oneworld airlines.
Which Indian cities does Oman Air serve, and what is Sindbad?
Oman Air has served several Indian cities from Muscat, including Mumbai and Kochi, and relaunched Lucknow flights in October 2023, according to trade reports at the time. Airlines adjust Indian routes between seasons. Check the live schedule for your city before you plan a connection, and do not assume a route from older articles still operates.
Sindbad is Oman Air’s own frequent flyer programme. Members earn miles on Oman Air flights and move up through tiers as they fly. Oman Air’s Sindbad pages carry the current earning and tier rules, so read them there.
Common Questions
Can I manage an Oman Air booking with just my name?
No. The forms ask for the booking reference plus your last name. If you lost the reference, use the link in your confirmation email or contact Oman Air.
Can I change an Oman Air ticket booked through an agent online?
You can generally view it, but changes go through the agent or ticket issuer. Oman Air’s FAQ states this for agent bookings.
Can I fix a spelling mistake in my name?
Oman Air says name errors generally require cancelling and rebooking in the correct name, with cancellation charges possible. Check your name against your passport before paying.
Are change and refund fees the same on every fare?
No. Oman Air says the result depends on the fare basis of your ticket. See the fare types guide and the conditions shown in Manage Booking.
Can I pay for extra baggage after booking?
Yes, Manage Booking lists adding extra baggage as an online option for eligible bookings, usually those bought directly from Oman Air.
How do I contact Oman Air?
Use the contact options on omanair.com, which list the call centre and offices for your country. Quote your booking reference when you write or call.
